Malaysia Day Video

On the 15th of September, the Leo club of Assunta uploaded their Malaysia Day short film 2014 in conjunction with Malaysia Day on the 16th of September.

This video was a collaboration with the Leo Club of Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara. This video took three days to film the specific scenes we wanted to add in which was held mostly in BK3 park and the Leo Club of Assunta's Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration event.

The summary of this video is, an Indian boy who was playing futsal with his friends and had accidentally kicked the ball at a Chinese girl's head. As an apology, the boy bought Milo Ice for the girl and after a few weeks of activities done together, they became good friends and started having feelings for each other. The boy tells the story of his grandmother's friend, about how back then intermarriage was not approved very much by others but now in our 1 Malaysia country where relationships and friendships between other races are advisable and that it is possible to live peacefully with such diversity in our country. In conclusion to the video, the boy finds that nothing could stop him from getting the girl he wanted.

The video was a success and hard work was paid off, We are very grateful for everyone's help in the making of this video.

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

On the 13th of September 2014, the Leo Club of SMK Assunta organized the Mid-Autumn Festival project which was held at our school lawn. The event started at 6.30pm with the arrival of about 60 guests.

The event started off with the munching down of food and of course what's Mid-Autumn Festical without mooncakes? As everyone settled down and filled their hungry stomachs, each person received two boxed of candles. Everyone started lighting up the candles and played with the Frisbees. Later on, we were required to form a group with Leos from other schools and had to  name our group along with a group cheer.

We carried out a group activity where we had to see who lights up their lanterns the fastest. Although a few lanterns were burnt in the process, everyone still finished what they started. Using the lanterns that we lighted up, we had to go around the whole school looking for moon stickers with different points written on the back. But there's a catch, there were also stickers with negative ponts which we had to deduct from the overall score.

The night ended around 9.30pm with a traditional Chinese song lead by Carmen Cheong. In a nutshell, the night was fun and enjoyable as we got to celebrate this festival with our Leo family. Everyone had a great bonding time and it was a whole new experience for those who haven't celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival before.
