Reach for the Sky 2.0

On the 20th of November 2014, Leo Club of SMK Assunta had a joint project with the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Utama. The name of this project is "Reach For The Sky 2.0".

The main purpose of this project was to teach the children from Precious Children's Home how to make a kite and fly a kite at Taman Selayang, Kepong. The kids did an amazing job making the kites but they were even better with flying them. After that, we also had a picnic there. There were 10 Leos from our club and 9 Leos from Leo Club of Damansara Utama who took part in this project. It was held from 2.30pm to 6.00pm.

We all enjoyed this project very much! We also held this project last year and we all have gained a lot of experiences for the people who joined this for the first time. It was indeed a great project!

Doodle Your 2014

On the 17th of November until the 21st of November, the Leo Club of SMK Assunta carried out a project called Doodle Your 2014. For this project, a few boards were placed at SMK Assunta's canteen for a week. Students of SMK Assunta wrote or drew their unforgettable memories in the year 2014. They could also write their experiences in the year 2014. Moreover, students could also express their feelings about the year 2014.

The aim of this project was for students to appreciate their experiences in the year 2014. It also enabled students to remember their wonderful experiences throughout the year 2014. Furthermore, students were able to share their fun experiences with everybody else.

Many students of SMK Assunta doodles on the boards that were prepared. We got good feedbacks. Everybody really enjoyed this project. This project was definitely a success.

Random Act of Kindness

On the 16th of November 2014, a few Leo clubs organized a Joint Random Acts of Kindness project in conjunction with Random Acts of Kindness Day. This project was held at Mid Valley Megamall and Subang Parade.

The project involved the Leos giving out sweets to the people shopping at these malls. The Leos really enjoyed themselves and gained valuable insight and experience. The shoppers were very pleased and happy to receive little gifts from the joyful Leos. The trinkets really brightened up their day.

We hope this project will continue each year as it indeed brought many smiles to many people's faces.

Movie Marathon

The Movie Marathon project was held on the 14th and 21st November 2014. It was carried out in the Bilik Kuliah in our school. The project was from 10.10am to 12.30pm. The ticket price was RM2 each. We played 'Hachiko (A Dog's Story)' on the 14th of November and 'Malificent' on the 21st of November.

The main purpose of this project was to give a chance for the Form 3 and Form 4 students to enjoy movies which they couldn't watch before or during their major examinations. Besides that, this project was also done to raise funds for the club. In addition, this project helped to bridge the gap between the students.

We also sold snacks and drinks during the project. This movie marathon went very well and was a success. We received good support from the students. The organizing committee planned to carry it on in the following years.

Leo Captain Ball Tournament

On the 8th of November, Leos from Leo Club of SMK Assunta participated in the Leo Captain Ball Tournament. This event was held at SMK Subang Utama's basketball court. The event was supposed to start at 8.00am. Unfortunately, due to the bad, rainy weather we had to start at 9.30am. All the Leos, as usual, arrived early and on time, so, for entertainment, the SMK Subang Utama Leos were playing a mix of awesome songs and everyone was grooving to the beat.

Before we started off with the games, we had muffins, buns and bread as snacks. The games were intense as all the Leos played their outmost best. For lunch, we had fried mee hoon with sambal. We, the losers, but still standing tall, also had a friendly match of volleyball while the few teams were playing during the finals. We had a good laugh and bonding time.

As the tournament came to a close, the SMK Subang Utama Leos, announced the winners, first in place was the yellow team, second, the white team and third, the black team. The best player of each team was also given medals. Sadly, the event ended earlier which was at 2.30pm due to the technical diffuculties and the rainy weather.

Overall, all the Leos would like to thank our organizers of this event which are the Leos of SMK Subang Utama and we hope to have another tournament like this in the future!
