A Report on the Leo Club of Taman Petaling's Installation

On the 12^th of August 2011, 10 leos from the Leo Club of Assunta, attended the installation of the Leo Club of Taman Petaling. The theme that they have chosen this year was the 5 wonders of Nature which had a very meaningful and powerful meaning behind it. The event was held in the SMK (P) Taman Petaling hall. At around 2.00p.m., all the leos from various schools reached and were gathered in the hall.

To start things off, the Nation anthem was sung followed by the leo pledge which was led by one of the leos of Taman Petaling. Then, the event continued with the roll call. After that, speeches were made beginning with the organizing chairperson, Leo Cynthia Chuah followed by another speech by the head mistress and their Lion advisor, Lion Shangkar. Next, was the induction of the new leo members. Lion Ivan was asked to come on stage to induct the new members. After that, was the induction of the new Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2011/2012 which was led by Lion Shangkar. The new president, Leo Casheen was then invited on stage to make her first speech as the new President of the Leo club of Taman Petaling.

A few games were played. It started off with a name game. The Leos were asked to stack up the chairs at the 2 sides of the hall and make a big circle. The game went on for quite some time but the Leos really had fun playing it. After that, the performances began. There was a interesting dance performance by 2 very talented leos followed by 2 guest performers who sang a mash up and played the guitar. Next, was another performance by the new BOD for the fiscal year 2011/2012 and last but not least was a group singing performance by all the Leos of Taman Petaling.

At around 5.30p.m., the meeting was adjourned and the Leos were invited to the canteen for refreshments.
