On the 5th of July 2014, the Leo club of SMK Assunta attended the 15th Installation of the Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity (Omega). The installation was held at Global Business Park, from 11.00 am to about 3.00 pm. There were 9 Leos from our school attending the event.
The installation started with the joyous arrival of the VIPs, Lions and Leos from various Leo and Lion Clubs. The meeting was called to order by Presiding Officer of Leo Club of PJI, Leo Lee Pei Wen. Then, the Leo Pledge was recited by Leo Chee Eu Gene, followed by an enthusiastic roll call from attending Leo clubs.
Next up were the speeches, by the Organizing Chairperson, Leo Justin Ng, followed by Immediate Past President Leo Lee Pei Wen, Post District Governor Wong Fong Piew and District Chairperson Leo Clubs Region 5 Designate Marcus Loh.
Then, there was the induction ceremony of the new 6 members of Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity. Next was an entertaining and well- done video representation, followed by the Installation Ceremony of Incoming Presidents and Board Directors. The other Leo members congratulated them on their achievement. After that, the newly installed President Leo Eric Teh made a speech, following that was the Token of Appreciation for the VIPs and Lions. The meeting was adjourned after that.
After lunch, we were entertained with some impressive and talented performers, such as a guitar and singing duo by Cynthia and Andrew, the very versatile beatboxing duo Eugene and Yee Vern and a few others. Soon after, we said our farewells. We have all enjoyed ourselves very much at the event and hope the new directors and members of the Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity a great fiscal year ahead.
