All the events ended at about 2.45pm, and Lion Nicholas Seow presented the medals and trophies to the winning participants and teams. Our club managed to come home with a medal for the 3 legged race. Report on Cupcake Time!
On the 6th of July 2010, in conjunction with the Open Day of SMK Assunta, the Leo Club of Assunta Secondary School organized a fundraising project, ‘Cupcake Time!’. Our target was to raise a total of RM350 and we managed to achieve our goal. The objective of this project is to raise funds for our school service projects.
We set up the stall by the hall at approximately 9.15am. We sold varieties of cupcakes and muffins. Our leo members were ever willing to lend a hand and we baked all the items we sold. It was definitely 100% homemade. The Leos who were involved took 1 hour shifts.
At about 9.30am, parents started to come and there were some parents who bought the cupcakes and muffins without hesitating because they knew it is for a good cause. There were also many students who bought the cupcakes.
At around 10.30am, we sold at least half of our items. More parents came and they were very interested in the creativity of students and what we would do for our school. There were also parents who bought a minimum of 15 packets of muffins and cupcakes.
By 11.15 am, we sold all the cupcakes and muffins. We worked together to clean up the area and to pack everything up. We managed to raise RM 400 and we were very glad that all our hard work had paid off.
This project was definitely a success and we are looking forward for more opportunities to help our school in anything we can. It was a job well done and we went home with a smile on our face.
