Leo Orientation Camp is a 3 days 2 nights camp organized by the Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity (O). This is a project between our sister clubs which are Leo Club of Taman Sea, Leo Club of Taman Petaling, Leo Club of Damansara Jaya, Leo Club of Assunta and or course the organizing club, Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity (O). 6 Leo members from the Leo Club os Assunta participated in this camp. There were 26 campers in total excluding the committee members.
On the 5th of September 2014 (Friday), Leos who were participating in this camp gathered at A&W at around 2.00pm. We started our journey to our campsite half and hour later. We reached the campsite after 45 minutes plus bus ride. When we reached our campsite, an opening ceremony was held. Then, each camper was placed into different teams. There were four teams in total. The first activity of the camp was of course the ice breaking session. We played many fun and interesting ice breaking activities during the ice breaking session. It was really fin and we got to know each other a lot better.
During the night, we got into our respective teams and played the station games prepared by the organizing committee. There were 5 stations in total and we only had 30 minutes for each station. Each of the stations were really challenging and we experienced a lot of team work while playing.
On the second day, we had some morning exercises and activities. The, there were two workshops prepared for us. Both of the workshops taught us a lot on leadership and teamwork. After that we played a few games of dodgeball and Frisbee. In the night, there was a bonfire. Each team prepared a short sketch and performed it during the bonfire session. We also played a few games around the bonfire, it was a fairly good night.
On the last day, we had a really interesting and fun activity in the morning. After that was the closing ceremony for this camp. All of us left this camp with a lot of memories in out hearts, a lot of friendships were made and a lot of lessons were learned. The Leo Orientation Camp was really a good project. It had taught us many lessons and we have learnt a lot about leadership, teamwork and a lot more. I really hope that this Leo Orientation camp will go on for many more years so that younger Leos will be able to experience it. It was an experience that none of us will be regretful.
