11th Annual Blind Leading The Blind Charity Walk

On the 19th of October 2014, Leos from Leo Club of SMK Assunta participated in the 11th Blind Leading the Blind Charity Walk. This event is an annual event organized by the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya to raise funds for the needs of the patients in the Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital.

The event this year was held at the Kelana Jaya Stadium and commenced around 7.30am. The stadium was bustling with life and was filled with masses of people. There were people from all walks of life that came out to support this event that day. The Leos had splendid fun leading their partners along the track and some lucky Leos got a chance lead actual blind people. It was truly a wonderful experience. That Sunday morning was a lovely morning for a walk and it was very pleasant and enjoyable.

Our Leo Club was brought out the enthusiasm with our lively mascot and our brightly coloured banner. This intensifies the BLB experience and made it all the more fun. All along the way, we sang our school cheers non-stop and were full of spirit until the end. Not only did we have fun and gained new experiences, many Leos also made new friends and got a chance to meet many new people during the walk.

All in all, BLB was an amazing experience for all the Leos. We hope this event will continue on every year and bring about the awareness and importance of sight to people everywhere.
