On the 19th of February 2009, the Leo club of SMK Assunta had a visit to the High-5 bread town in Shah Alam, Selangor. The trip was accompanied by 23 Leos and 14 children from Precious Home Orphanages and also 2 teacher advisers. The trip was from 8.30am until 11.00 am.
First on the agenda was, all the Leos gathered at the school bus stop at 8.00am for attendance and briefing on the children that were accompanying us in this visit. We left from the school at about approximately 8.45 am and were on our way to Precious Home near MBPJ Library. All the Leos were assigned a kid and were tasked to get to know each other for a small quiz about each other.
At about 9.00am, we reached the HIGH-5 Bread Town. Everyone gathered at the entrance and was brought in my one of the guides that was entitled to take us on the tour. First, she took us to a room and showed us a slide show presentation on the history of bread making. In. the slide show they showed how the bread of the past has been made into bread that we now eat.
After the slide show presentation, the tour guide took us into a tunnel that was showing us the history of bread factory from one era to another in semi-live version. We were in the tunnel for almost 15-20 minutes approximately. After that, we were shown the way bread was making in today's society. We saw how machines were used to make, bake and even pack the bread. It was very interesting and enjoyable to watch.
After that, we were taken to a part of the factory where we could play with the dough of the bread and feel the texture of it and even buy souvenirs. After we enjoying ourselves to the maximum level, the tour guide gave us each a bag of high bread in all sorts of flavours and types. At the end of the day we snapped photographs of everyone to commemorate our day. We left the Bread town at about 10.30am and reached back at school at about 11am. We were not very tired, but still enjoyed our day.
