On the
3rd of November 2012 the first RCC meeting for the fiscal year 12/13
was held at SMK Assunta from 8.30 a.m till 12.00 p.m. Amongst the schools that
were present were SMK Seafield, SMK USJ 4, SMK Sri KL, SMK La Salle PJ, SMK La
Salle Klang, SMK Subang Utama, SMK Subang Jaya, SMK Taman S.E.A, SMK Damansara
Jaya, SMK Batu Lapan, SMK Taman Petaling, SMK Assunta, Inti ICS Metro (O),
Petaling Jaya Integrity (PJI) (O), Metro Methodist College (O), Sungai Buloh
(O), Sunway Metro (O), Taylor’s College and ACG Benevolent Unity (O).
As the meeting begun, it was called
to order by Leo Jeremy, the Leo Cabinet Regional Coordinator. It was then
followed by the Leo Pledge which was recited my Leo Kendra Hema, full of
enthusiasm. Then one Leo representative from each school belted out the roll
call with pride and energy which made the Leos accompany them with their loud
and energetic roars.
Reports were then given by the
President of projects, upcoming projects and problems faced. All the schools
have many upcoming projects such as Christmas caroling, Blood Donation Drive,
Tree Planting, Adopt a child, car wash and many more. Also the lack of
communication was a common problem faced by many schools and is a concern in
which all Leos were asked to cooperate so it could be solved.
Lion Nelson then gave his speech. He
encouraged the Leos to ask questions if necessary. Also, he suggested that the
Leos should try to communicate by reaching out to each other via Facebook or
e-mail which was followed my Lion Marcus’s Announcement. He introduced the CLD
programme to the Leos. Lion Balu then gave his speech. He introduced the Lions
Square Project, which was never held in Malaysia. Lion Shirley then said talked
about the importance of reporting. Lion Patricia was then introduced. She has
been a Lion for about two months. Leo Eric then announced that the Leo Omega
Conference would be held on the 12th to the 13th of
January next year at the Carlton Hotel and Leo Jeremy announced that the
Regional Leo Project for
Region 7 and 8 would be held in Ipoh in April. He also stated that Leos who are
interested in the Youth Exchange Programme should contact him.
The meeting was adjourned at precisely 12.00 pm by Lion
Nelson, the District Chairperson for Leo Club Development. The Lions and Leos
were then served lunch at the schools canteen and everyone was interacting with
one another, Lions and Leos alike.
