On the 4th of November (Sunday),
the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya organized a drawing and colouring contest at
the Summit Mall, Subang Jaya from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The theme for this
contest was “Imagine Peace”. The contest was divided into 2 groups: junior and senior
categories. The senior category was required to draw and colour their own
piece, whereas the junior group was given a prepared piece to be coloured.
The Leo Club of Assunta Secondary School sent
5 Leos to help out in the contest, who were Kendra Hema Sashidharan, Hemalaxmi
Nathakumar, Foong Wing Yan, Wong Jecinn and Wong Jeyinn respectively. The
participants paid fully attention while designing their piece. They contributed
their creative drawing and colouring skills which attracted our attention.
We were instructed to help the kids if they
were to encounter any problems. Meanwhile, we were also given health brochures
to be given out to the people there. By and large, this was a good opportunity
to trigger the kids’ art talents as well as to acknowledge the children’s hard
work.
Report by,
Leo Jecinn.
