On the 15th of December 2012, Saturday, Leos gathered at the canteen of SMK Assunta around 12.30 p.m. We had lunch and we left the school at 2.00 p.m. We reached the first home, Home of Peace at 3.00 p.m. We started caroling and Santa Claus gave out gifts to the kids. The songs we sang were Little Drummer Boy, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Felice Navidad, Jingle Bells, Joy To The World, White Christmas, 12 Days Of Christmas and Frosty The Snowman. However, we left early cause the kids had to leave to the church. The next home we went was Charis Home. There were a lot of kids there. We caroled with the kids there and they were quite happy as they received Santa’s gifts. We sponsored story books and footwear to the home. Then, we reached school around 5.30 p.m.
The next day, 16th of December, Sunday, Leos gathered at SMK Assunta school canteen at 3.00 p.m. We had light food such as sandwiches and cakes. We left the school at 4.00 p.m. and reached the Bellevue Residential Homecare, an old folk’s home at 4.30 p.m. We caroled and supplied fruits for each of them which were sponsored by Leo Lakshmi Ramanathan. The old people seemed very happy on our visit. After that, we left around 5.15 p.m. The next home, Trinity Children’s Centre was located near Assunta Primary School. We reached there at 5.30 p.m. The home was small to fit all of us in but we managed to. We sang and the kids were happy with their gifts by Santa.
It rained heavily when we are about to leave. The rain did not seem to stop so we walked to the bus with umbrellas. We reached school at about 6.10 p.m. Although it was a tiring day, the kids, teachers and Leos were very joyful.
