Report on a Visit to Trinity Orphanage in conjunction with Chinese New Year (Joint with Leo Club of Taman Petaling)

On the 2^nd of February, a total of 14 Leos and probationers from the Leo Clubs of SMK Taman Petaling and SMK Assunta had come together to have a visit to the Trinity Orphanage for Chinese New Year.

We reached there in the afternoon with a lot of food, drinks and some daily necessities sponsored by the Leos and probationers to be given to the orphanage. Once we arrived, the children of the orphanage helped us to transport the things we brought into the orphanage.

We started our games with ‘Simon Says’. The children didn’t seem to mix around with the Leos at first as we were strangers to them but effort was placed and soon, cheerful atmosphere and characters made all of us bonded quickly. The next game was ‘Love Tunnel’. Each of us were partnered with the children and as the enthusiasm of the children shot up, the game went around very fast leaving 2 pairs of winners. The pairs also received prizes.

Then, the Gangnam Style was put on the loudspeaker and some of the boys were dancing to it. After that, we had an angpau decoration making competition. We were divided into two groups and were explained that the group with the longest train of angpau fishes and lantern decoration would win. Lollipops were also distributed to the children.

Then, we gathered inside the orphanage and a story about the ‘Nian’ was presented as a paper puppet play. The children liked it very much. Lastly, we had a group photo and said our goodbyes to the orphanage children who looked forward to our visit again.
