A Report on 'I love Assunta Picnic'

On the 18 February 2012, the Leo Club of Assunta lent a hand in the ‘I Love Assunta Picnic’ which was organised by the Assunta Alumni. It was suppose to start at 8.30 a.m. but the Leo’s came early to help set up the stalls, decorate the area, organize the games and lots more.

Before the picnic started, we all were given a basket filled with mineral water bottles, roasted chicken, ‘kuih lapis’ and many more delicious foods which was just enough for four people. Then, all of us picked a picnic spot on our school field. At about 8.45 a.m., the stalls started selling their items. There were so many things being sold such as Tupperware branded products, brownies, some pretty jewellery and much more. The prices for the items that were sold were very reasonable.

Suddenly, it started to rain, so, we had to move to the side of the hall. We were given plenty of time to enjoy our picnic and to eat the food given. Then, the games started. Many children took part in the games. The first game was ‘Place the marble in the plastic container with copsticks’. They were really excited and enjoyed themselves. The Leos stood by the younger children to help them out. Next was the three legged race. The children worked really well with their partners to get to the finish line.

At around 12.00 p.m. everyone started go home after such a long tiring day. That’s when the Leos started to help clean up the place. We made sure that the area was spotless before we left. The Assunta Alumni thanked the Leos for helping out on that day. Although the leos were really tired when the event was over, the leos went home with a big smile on their face.
