Zoo Volunteering

On the 22nd of December 2014, 7 Leos from the Leo Club of SMK Assunta went to lend a hand to Zoo Negara. The Leos joined the Zoo Negara Volunteer program. They took a full day shift which was from 8.00am until 4.30pm.

The Leos were split into groups and then stationed at different enclosures. They helped the zookeepers of the enclosures and some of the others as well. They were stationed at the Children's World, the Bear Complex and the Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium. The Leos helped clean the enclosures and its surrounding area, prepare food and feed the animals. Some even helped feed the tiger.

The staffs at Zoo Negara were very informative and shared a lot of stories and facts about both the animals and themselves.

Despite the rain, it was truly a great experience. We could not take many photos due to the rules set by Zoo Negara. We hope that more people join this programme help the stadd at Zoo Negara as it is indeed a lot of work but extremely rewarding.
