A Report on the Interact Club of Assunta's Installation

On the 6th of August 2011, the Interact Club of SMK Assunta held their annual installation for the incoming members and board of directors for the fiscal year 2011/2012. The event took place at Sister Enda’s Hall from 9.oo am to 11.oo am. The Leo Club of SMK Assunta was invited to witness this auspicious event.

The event was kicked off with the singing of the Negaraku and the Interact Song. After that, there was a speech by Rotarian Jack Lim and the organizing chairperson, Interactor Natalie Tan. There was a short opening act done by the Form 3 incoming Interactors. It was about a girl who wasn’t good in socializing, but after she joined the Interact Club, she had many friends.

Before the Installation of the incoming Interactors, there was a slide show presentation on the various events that took place during the fiscal year of 2010/2011. Finally, it was the time everyone was waiting for! The installation of the new Interactors. The Interactors received 3 badges each. Then, it was the graduation of the Form 5’s. They all received certificates for their undying support and contribution to the club and the outgoing president. Interactor Lakshmi then gave her speech. There was a video presentation by the Form 5’s which was about their journey in the Interact Club.

After that, there was a dance performance. The dance was a mixture of hip-hop and Indian culture. Then, it was the passing over of posts. The outgoing and incoming board of directors for various posts, walked up to the stage hand in hand and exchanged badges and hugs. The incoming president, Interactor Dana Low gave her speech and assured everyone that she would bring the club to greater heights. At last, there was a presentation by the new board of directors and the whole Interact Club consisting of old and new members sang a song by Jordin Sparks entitled This Is My Now.

To end that day’s event, there were refreshments provided in the school canteen. After that, everybody went back home.
