On the 4th to the 14th of July 2011, the leos of the Leo Club of Assunta sold coloured framed sunglasses in conjunction with our school’s Sports Day. The colours that were being sold to the students were according to our house colours which are red, yellow, blue and green. Each pair was sold for RM10.
Each leo was given 2 of each colour to sell to the students. Many students and teachers were interested in buying the sunglasses. A table was set up in the cafe during the Form 3’s, 4’s and 5’s recess to sell the sunglasses. There were some days as well where the leos took turns to stay back to sell the sunglasses in the cafe during the Form 1’s and 2’s recess.
The first batch of sunglasses were sold off within the first week. So, more sunglasses were ordered. There were many parents from the PIBG and the Alumni that were also interested in buying a pair according to their house colours when they were in school for the march around the field during Sports Day.
The remaining sunglasses were sold off during Sports Day which was on the 14th of July 2011. We were so glad that we were able to sell all 446 pairs of sunglasses with the help of all the leo members. It didn’t turn out to be a very sunny day during our sports day this year but the students, teachers and parents still brought along their sunglasses to show their support for their houses.
