On the 25th of April 2012, the Leo members of the Leo Club of Assunta had attended a symposium which was about Caring Education In The 21st Century: Women Views at Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel. Five of the Leo members had attended this symposium. The keynote address of this symposium was YABHG Datin Paduka Seri (Dr) Rosmah Mansor, the wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The high tea was from 2.00p.m to 5.00p.m. When we were done registering, we were given a seat. It started off with a welcoming speech by the organizer of the event. After her speech, it continued with the keynote address by YABHG Datin Paduka Rosmah Mansor to talk about inculcating values in our young. Everyone was listening attentively. At around 3.30p.m. a talk on education and character building was carried out by Dr Aileen Tan, USM. After that, Dr. Sazlina Salleh talked about taking a child-centred approach to education. Lastly, a life inspired talk was given by Mrs Halimah Kadir, the CEO of Goldbuyers Malaysia.
Around 4.30p.m , everyone was given refreshments. After we filled our stomachs, we left for home. All the Leos learnt a lot and couldn’t wait to go home to share it with their families.
