Report on the Reading to the Blind Project

          On the 21st of April 2012,the Leo Club of SMK Assunta had gathered a few of our Leo members to participate in the monthly Reading to the Blind Project in the Perpustakaan Universiti Malaya. A total of four Leos participated in the project which are in Leo Ruby Wong Chui Yee, Leo Natalie Yaw, Leo Foong Wing Yan and Jaspreet.

         At 9a.m. we arrived at the UM Library and waited to be inspired. We waited for the blind people to arrive and began our reading journey at about 9.15 am. All four of the Leos then adjourned to the respective rooms to begin their objective of the day which is to read to the blind people.

          The blind students were indeed very intelligent people. Their disabilities did not stop them from being a successful person in life. According to one of the blind people, Mr.Lim, “studying has no formula” he said. It is just reading and remembering the facts. The club members of the Leo Club of SMK Assunta were truly amazed with their unending courage in their lives.

          Their journey of reading to the blind ended at about 10.45 am. Everyone said their goodbyes.The club members are all truly inspired and they really look forward to coming again to read to the blind.
