Leo Ultimate Charity Tournament (LUCT)

On the 9^th June 2012, Saturday, an event called the Leo Ultimate Charity Tournament (LUCT) was held in SMK Assunta’s school field. The event was organized by the Leo club of Petaling Jaya Integrity. The Leo clubs which participated in the event were the Leo Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity, SMK Assunta, SMK Taman SEA, SMK Damansara Jaya, SMK Taman Petaling, ACG Benevolent Unity and SMK USJ 8. Saint John’s Ambulance Brigade also came to help those who were injured. All of the participants were divided into 12 groups of 7 people. Each group was named after a colour which were team red, purple, grey, blue, brown, pink, green, white, orange, yellow, black and sky blue. The event started at 7.30 in the morning. All of the participants gathered on the field in front of the pavilion according to their groups. The emcees were Leo Kevin Chew and Leo Destinee Koh. Puan Betty Toh, the teacher advisor of SMK Assunta, made her speech followed by Lion Ivan, the Leo advisor of SMK Assunta and Leo Melvin Cheah, the Assistant Organising Chairperson of LUCT. After that, Leo Andrew Yeong, the Organising Chairperson of LUCT, was telling all of the participents the rules of the Frisbee tournament. The tournament started at 9.00 in the morning. The first six teams which were team red, purple, grey, blue, brown and pink played in field A and the other six teams, team green, white, orange, yellow, black and sky blue played in field B. Two of the teams which got into the finals were team orange and team black. In the end, team orange won! After the tournament, we continued with the lucky draw. Then, medals were given to the best male player, Alex Leong, the best female player, Eurica Yu and the top three teams. Second runner-up was grey team, first runner-up, black team and first place was team orange. The event finished at 1.30 in the afternoon and some of us stayed back to clear up. It was a fun event. Everyone had a great time and made new friends and also the beginners learned how to play frisbee.
